Cuidados del tatuaje
Each studio or tattoo artist will recommend the best way to heal your tattoo.
Below we leave you our recommendations both with patch and with cream.
A tattoo is a wound and should be treated as such. Avoid friction, especially during the first week, to ensure proper healing and prevent infections. This is especially recommended if the tattoo is in areas with clothing friction (ribs, groin, etc.).
- Clean 2â3 times a day with fresh water and neutral soap. Pat dry with kitchen paper (avoid towels).
- Hydration: apply a very thin layer of tattoo cream 2â3 times a day (without perfume or alcohol).
- Wear loose clothing and avoid friction or excessive sweating during the first few days.
- Duration: 2â3 weeks or until the skin returns to normal.
- There may be itching/fine peeling. Do not pick at skin or scabs.
Things to keep in mind
- Itâs normal for it to peel, itch, or for some light scabbing to appear.
- Itâs a wound that needs to heal, and the skin will regenerate afterward.
- Donât pull on skin/flakes/scabs and, of course, donât scratch!
Transparent, waterproof, vegan, and breathable adhesive. Helps protect against friction (ideal if you have pets). It contains everything needed for your tattoo to heal perfectly.
- Leave it on for 1â2 days depending on the area (your tattoo artist will advise you).
- Second patch (optional) 2 days: not always applied, depends on the tattoo.
- Remove in the shower with lukewarm water, very gently (do not pull it off dry).
- Loose clothing; avoid friction and excessive sweating during the first few days.
- Afterwards, 2 weeks of gentle cleaning + tattoo cream 2 times a day.
Things to keep in mind
- If it peels off a little, itâs fine as long as the tattoo isnât exposed to the air.
- If after the first day thereâs redness or itching, remove the patch and continue with cream, your skin might not be breathing well, and itâs better to keep using cream.
Avoid these habits so as not to compromise the healing or the quality of the tattoo.
- Long showers or very hot water.
- Intense exercise / excessive sweating for 1 week.
- Direct sun, beach, pool, and sauna for 2 weeks.
- Scratching or pulling at skin/scabs.
- Tight clothing and continuous friction.
- Too much cream (over-moisturizing is harmful).
